No texts in Linear A have yet been deciphered.Evans also found writings on clay tablets. They included hieroglyphs and two forms of writing with straight-line strokes. The hieroglyphs were earliest. The first linear writing dated from 1800 BC. Evans called it Linear A. The other straight-line writing, Linear B, had come into use 350 years later -- in 1450 BC.
